Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 3, 2026

BigBreak (“we”, “us”) is a job-search assistant that helps you find roles, prepare applications, and reach hiring teams. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your data is used to run your job search on your instructions — we don’t sell it, and we don’t share it except as needed to provide the service.

What we collect

  • Account details — name, email address, password (stored as a hash by our authentication provider), and, if you sign in with LinkedIn, your name, email and profile photo from LinkedIn.
  • Career profile — your résumé/CV, work history, education, skills, links (portfolio, LinkedIn, GitHub), address, phone number and photo, which you provide so applications can be prepared and filled for you.
  • Application answers — answers you save for screening questions, including work-eligibility information and, if you choose to provide it, voluntary self-identification data (such as gender, ethnicity, veteran or disability status). This sensitive data is stored only so it can be entered into application forms at your direction, and providing it is always optional.
  • Activity in the product — jobs you save, applications you approve, messages you draft and send, and technical logs needed to operate the service.

How we use it

  • To search for roles matching your criteria and prepare application materials (including AI-drafted cover letters, answers and outreach that you review before anything is sent).
  • To fill and submit job applications only when you explicitly approve a submission.
  • To find publicly available professional contact information for hiring teams at companies you are applying to.
  • To send outreach emails you have approved, and to show you replies.
  • To operate, secure and improve the service.

Service providers

We use a small set of processors to run BigBreak: hosting and databases (Vercel, Railway, Supabase), AI drafting (Anthropic), email delivery (Resend), and search/contact-discovery APIs (SerpApi, Google Custom Search, Hunter). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function. When you approve an application or outreach email, the relevant information is necessarily shared with the employer or recipient you chose.

Google API Services

BigBreak’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

What we don’t do

  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • We do not submit applications or send messages without your approval.
  • We do not use your career data to train AI models.

Retention & deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You can edit or remove profile data in the app at any time, and you can request full account deletion by contacting us — we will delete your workspace data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal reasons.

Cookies

We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us and we will honor these requests.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure providers. Access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.

Changes & contact

We will update this page when our practices change, and note the new effective date above. Questions or requests: privacy@bigbreak.ai.
