Cookie Policy

Effective date: August 9, 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage BigBreak uses, and why. The short version: we use the minimum needed to keep you signed in and to remember a few interface choices. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell any of it.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser and reads back on later visits. Browsers also offer related storage — localStorage and sessionStorage — which work the same way from your point of view. Where this policy says “cookies”, it covers all three.

What we set

Strictly necessary

These are required for the service to work at all. They cannot be turned off from within the product, because without them you cannot sign in.

  • Authentication session — set by our authentication provider (Supabase) when you sign in, and read on each request to confirm it is you. Cleared when you log out.
  • Administrator view — if a platform administrator is viewing an account for support, a short-lived cookie records which account. A banner is shown for the whole time it is set, and it is cleared when they exit.
  • Security — standard protections against cross-site request forgery on forms and actions.

Functional

These remember small interface choices so the product behaves sensibly between visits. They hold no personal information beyond what you can see on screen.

  • Browser-extension state — whether the BigBreak autofill extension has been detected in this browser, so the app does not repeatedly prompt you to install it.
  • Support conversation — your current chat with our support assistant, kept for the browser tab so closing the panel does not lose what you have written.
  • Interface state — small preferences such as which tab you last had open, and a marker used to recover cleanly after we release an update.

What we do not set

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No cross-site tracking, and no data brokers or ad networks.
  • No selling or sharing of your information for advertising purposes.

Third parties

A small number of providers operate parts of the service and may set their own cookies when their component loads: our authentication provider (Supabase) for sign-in, our payment provider (Stripe) on billing pages, and our hosting platform for performance measurement. These are limited to running and measuring the service. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of that request. Each provider has its own privacy notice.

Your choices

Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site storage for a specific site. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies above will stop you signing in; blocking the functional ones is harmless — the product simply forgets those preferences. Because we set no advertising cookies, there is nothing to opt out of for marketing purposes.

You can also delete your account at any time from your profile, which removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes

If we start using cookies for a materially different purpose, we will update this page and change the effective date above. If that change would require your consent, we will ask for it before setting them.
