Workday

Workday, and being honest about it

Workday runs much of enterprise hiring, and it is the one major system where the application genuinely cannot be automated end to end. Here is why, and what still helps.

An account per employer

Workday is deployed separately by each company, so applying means creating an account on that company's own tenant, verifying an email, and completing a multi-step flow. There is no shared session and no common form. Anything promising one-click Workday applications is either creating accounts on your behalf — which you should not want — or not doing what it says.

What actually helps

Everything up to the form
The role is found, ranked, and the hiring manager identified, with outreach drafted — none of which depends on the form.
Your answers in one place
The details a Workday flow asks for over several steps are ready to copy, rather than being reconstructed each time.
The right résumé
The variant matching the role's country and title is selected and ready to upload.

Where the leverage really is

On an enterprise role, the application is the least differentiated thing you will do — everyone who applies completes the same flow. The outreach to the hiring manager is where a Workday application is won or lost, and that part is not gated by the portal at all.

Spend your effort where it counts

Let the search, the matching and the outreach run, and keep the portal step short.
